Dear Readers,
It’s not as if cooking and cuisine are actually part of the Telekom Austria Group’s core business. So you are entitled to ask why you should put a recipe book by Hannes Ametsreiter and Hans Tschuden on your kitchen shelf next to those by Eckart Witzigmann, Sarah Wiener and Ewald Plachutta.
In fact, there are many similarities between good cuisine and sustainable corporate development to which we have been committed for many years. Both require a passion for quality in the choice of the ingredients, their preparation and presentation, the creativity and inspiration to create something new that pleases the guest and not just the chef, an ability to draw on the wealth of regional and seasonal specialties that are available - and all with a commitment to fair purchasing practices and social aspects as well as health consciousness and environmental awareness.
The Telekom Austria Group’s "recipe" for sustainability in its markets is based on similar principles that are enshrined in our new corporate identity as values (innovation, quality, diversity, responsibility): To ensure customer satisfaction by providing outstanding quality is one of the main demands we make of our product and service portfolio, and to achieve this goal we combine innovations with genuine added value, customer convenience, reliability and safety to ensure they always offer a positive experience. The diversity of strong, local brands and rich cultures and skills at our companies in the heart of central and Eastern Europe are valuable resources for the transfer of know-how and leveraging of group-wide synergies (which we will be able to utilize even more effectively following the restructuring of the Telekom Austria Group). At the Telekom Austria Group making such progress possible responsibly, means above all appreciative collaboration with employees, customers and all other stakeholders. This is why we are committed to an integrative approach to the economic, social and ecological aspects of sustainable management - to create a world that’s worth living in for everyone.
The valuable diversity of cultures and skills within the Telekom Austria Group has thus provided us with the theme for this year’s sustainability report, in which we take you on a culinary journey through the eight countries in which we operate. This special journey is illustrated with typical local recipes and dishes suggested and chosen by members of our staff from the various regions. For even if it is the members of the Management Board who are smiling at you from the kitchen in the photograph on the bottom, as everyone knows, long-term success doesn’t just depend on the executive chef, but is above all the result of good teamwork - for which we would like to take this opportunity to offer our employees our heartfelt thanks.
We hope that we have whetted your appetite for more sustainability, and appreciate your interest in the economic, ecological and social "recipes" and "ingredients" of the Telekom Austria Group.
